This piece is a result of a Covid-19 quarantine fever dream that took the band down the rabbit hole of YouTube.

The adventure began innocently enough, with a search for one of Hector's favorite photographers, Daido Moriyama. Little did they know that this simple search would lead them to a world of intrigue and fascination. As fate would have it, a video featuring a photo of a girl running away from the Yakuza caught their attention, and suddenly, the algorithm took hold, plunging them into a captivating exploration of Japanese gang culture.

Within this deep dive, they discovered the legendary "Nina Mona" motorcycle gang, renowned for their fearless exploits and named after a beloved French restaurant that served as their sanctuary. Inspired by the allure and mystique surrounding the Bōsōzoku culture, the band's imagination was set ablaze.

The profound admiration for the gang members' bike customization skills and their unbreakable bond of brotherhood became the catalyst for an extraordinary burst of creativity. As if possessed by an unstoppable force, the band delved into a songwriting frenzy, crafting the heart and soul of "Nina Mona" in the span of just four hours, from the bewitching hours of 1 am to 5 am on a blurry quarantine night.
